Circle Invests in Hyperliquid Amid 1,500% Surge, Expands USDC Integration
Circle Internet Financial, the issuer of USDC, has made a strategic investment in Hyperliquid (HYPE), a layer-1 blockchain witnessing explosive growth. The move coincides with Hyperliquid's 1,500% price surge this year, signaling institutional confidence in its infrastructure.
Circle is deploying Native USDC and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP V2) on HyperEVM, Hyperliquid's Ethereum-compatible chain. This integration aims to streamline stablecoin adoption for on-chain financial operations via HyperCore, Hyperliquid's specialized platform.
The stablecoin giant has taken a direct equity stake and may join as a network validator. Hyperliquid currently holds $6 billion in USDC reserves - representing 8% of Circle's total supply - generating an estimated $250 million annual yield for partners including Coinbase.
"We're coming to the HYPE ecosystem in a big way," declared Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire in a social media post, positioning the company as a major ecosystem contributor.
